Secure Shell (SSH) is an IEEE standard and widely adopted internet protocol for secure remote access and secure file transfers. Pragma Fortress Secure Shell (SSH) Server and Client are a package of software that provides SSH server and client functionalities to Windows operating systems as Windows does not include any SSH server or client. Pragma SSH product is designed for Windows and has been tested and recommended by US Army Testing Integration Center at Ft. Huachuca, Arizona as UC Approved Product List SSH server and client for Windows operating systems. The product has also obtained FIPS 140-2 and Certified for Microsoft Windows servers and desktop operating systems certifications.

Pragma ssh server allows remote users to access Windows computers using any ssh client and run any command line or systems management programs. The package includes SFTP and SCP servers for Windows to allow secure remote file transfers using FIPS approved encryption algorithms. The package also includes all ssh protocol standard specified clients – ssh, sftp, scp – in both graphical and command line forms which can be installed in the server machines for machine-to-machine communication and task automation or separately in windows desktop machines for human operators or systems administrators.

The key components for Pragma Fortress SSH product (version 5.0.9) are described below:

Pragma Systems Cryptographic Module ( PragmaCypto.dll ) – FIPS certified Pragma Cryptographic library that all SSH servers and clients call for encryption, crypto key generation and securing sessions

SSH server (sshd.exe )- Contains SSH server protocols and core server features

SFTP server (sftp-server.exe )- Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP)server

SCP server (scp.exe)- Secure Copy (scp) file transfer server. Scp is used mostly for command line or batch scripting file transfers. SFTP is used more for interactive sessions.

SSH key generator (sshkeygen.exe ) – SSH key generator program to create public-private key pairs for host computers or users

SSH client protocol library (sshdll.dll) - Contains SSH client protocol which all clients invoke

SSH client (ssh.exe) -  SSH client command line program

FortressCL.exe – SSH graphical client program

SFTP client (sftp.exe ) - SFTP command line client

FortressFX.exe – SFTP graphical client program

SCP client (scp.exe)- Secure Copy (scp) file transfer client program

Installation 

Both 64-bit and 32-bit packages are provided which can be installed in any Windows Operating systems based on customer need. Supported operating systems are: Windows servers 2012R2/2012/2008R2/2008/2003R2/2003 or Windows 8.1/8/7/Vista/XP ).
