If a system uninstallation fails, or cannot be performed for any reason, a manual uninstall can be done. These steps should only be followed if there are not any other Pragma Systems products installed on the machine. These steps will remove most of Pragma TelnetServer. Some of the registry entries used by the Windows Installer Service will remain. You can remove these entries by contacting Pragma Systems technical support for the msizap.exe utility provided by Microsoft. This utility should only be used by registry proficient personnel.
Stop the InetD Service.
Delete installation directory and all of its contents
Delete %SystemRoot%\system32\inetdsrv.exe
In the registry, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE. Delete the PragmaSystems key.
In the registry, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services. Delete InetD
In the registry, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\EventLog. Delete InetD, TelnetD, TelmSrvc".
In the registry, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedDlls. Delete any entries of files or subdirectories in the installation directory. Delete %SystemRoot%\System32\InetDSrv.exe.
In the registry, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\Folders. Delete any entries listing the installation directory.
In the registry, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall. There will be a list of keys, some with cryptic {xxx...} names. Remove the key that has the String value DisplayName with a value of "Pragma TelnetServer".
In the registry, go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software. Delete the Pragma Systems key.
Remove the installation directories from the PATH environment.
Remove the program groups created during the install.
Please note that if a manual uninstall is necessary, it is recommended to restart the server after the uninstall is completed.
