Group Management

Pragma TelnetServer Manager allow Windows Groups to have different configurations. Also, to explicitly list Windows Groups that have access to the server.

Configured Groups, when used in conjunction with the “Only Allow Users of Configured Groups Access to the Server” checkbox, allows administrators to limit which users can access the server by the Windows groups of which they are members. For example, if only members of the Administrators group should be allowed to telnet to the server, then instead of manually entering each user, the Administrators group can be added here in one step. Both local and global groups may be specified, and these groups can reside on an individual server, or in a Domain.

Configuration settings can also be set by group membership. Use the up and down arrows to order the groups. The first group that a user is a member of will be used to load settings.

New Group:

To add a new group, specify the server where the group resides, and then select the group(s) from that server and click Add. To specify groups from a Domain, enter the server name of a Primary Domain Controller (PDC) or Backup Domain Controller (BDC). Click the Refresh button to show a new list of groups. The default name that will show up in the Group Access Control list will be the PDC of the Domain in which the Pragma TelnetServer is a member.

Multiple groups can be added selected using the Control key. The configuration dialog will open for each selected group.

Copy Group:

Select a group or user to copy the configuration settings of, then click Copy to modify the group.

Delete Group:

Delete the selected group from the list.

Up and Down Arrows:

Use the up/down arrows to modify the group list. The first group that a user is a member of will be loaded for the session.

Only Allow Users of Configured Groups Access to Server

If this option is enabled, only users who are members of the listed Windows groups will be allowed access to the server.

NOTE: If both of the above checkboxes are enabled, then a user must be both a configured user and a member of a configured group; not just one or the other.
