The Shutdown program shutdowns a network machine. The shutdown.exe program is for Windows NT only. The reboot95.exe, instructions below, program should be used in Windows 95/98.
SHUTDOWN.EXE:
For Windows NT
USAGE:
shutdown [/F | /R] hostname [/I] [/?]
COMMAND OPTIONS:
hostname shutdown host machine, confirms shutdown and reboot information,
/F hostname shutdowns host machine without confirming
/R shutdown and reboot
/I Interactive Mode
/? Displays text help file
EXAMPLES:
To shutdown the machine named \\MACHINE, with a confirmation prompt, type:
shutdown \\MACHINE
To shutdown the machine named \\MACHINE, without a confirmation prompt, type:
shutdown /F \\MACHINE
To shutdown & reboot a machine, and to be prompted for hostname, and confirmation of shutdown & reboot, type:
shutdown /R
To run in interactive mode, type:
shutdown /I
REBOOT95.EXE:
For Windows 95/98.
Reboot95.exe is a GUI application and will not be able to confirm your choice to reboot the machine.
