Installing Pragma FortressSSH (Version 5.0, Build 9)

Pragma Fortress should be installed on an NTFS partition for the maximum amount of security.

Login as a user who has Administrator privileges. Run setup.exe. Pragma FortressSSH will begin to install. During the install, the system path is modified by adding the Pragma FortressSSH Shared Files and Clients directories. These changes will not be active in any command prompt window open during the install, or in any session. The path will be active in any new command prompt window opened after completion of the install. The path will be active in a session after restart of the server.

Follow the steps, given during the installation.

Windows 2000 requires Windows Installer 3.1. The FortressSSH server will attempt to install this. If the install fails, then it may need to be installed separately.

During the installation, a command window will open while the sshkeygen program is generating the necessary files for the products installed. If both the client and server are installed, two windows will open. These windows will close automatically after the sshkeygen program has completed.

If any files were locked while installing Pragma FortressSSH, the machine will need to be restart in order for the installation to complete and the dialog asking to reboot will appear. Please reboot the machine if this dialog occurs. The product cannot work correctly until the machine has been restart. The correct files must reside on the machine. Erroneous errors could occur due to mismatched files.
