Using Pragma FortressFX is very simple. Once the program is installed, run the program from the shortcut on the Desktop or from Windows Start menu. Pragma FortressFX is a GUI Secure FTP Client. FortressFX has a simple, easy-to-use interface which is highly configurable. FortressFX is designed to run on all Windows platforms, including NT, XP, ME, 2000 and 2003. FortressFX ensures protection of your data, while they are transferred. FortressFX sets up a secure communication channel through which data is transferred between the client and the server.
To launch FortressFX, click on the FortressFX icon on the Desktop or launch it from the Windows Start menu. When the program first runs, FortressFX Site Manager dialog will open, which is used to create, remove, and modify new connections. Use the Wizard or Add button to create a new profile. Each profile will need a minimum of host address, port, and authentication method. If the password method is selected, then a username must be entered.
After adding a new site, choose the site to which to connect, and click the Connect button to connect to the host.
FortressFX will connect to the remote host and display the root directory for the configured user. From this point, traverse the tree, upload and download files until all needed tasks are done. Only the files and directories with appropriate privileges will be seen. Close the session using the Disconnect menu item or toolbar button.
Each instance of FortressFX can be connected to a single host. Once disconnected, a new session can be started. If multiple sessions need to occur simultaneously, run separate instances of FortressFX.
